PLATFORM

Tracy understands great governance and city planning come by design and with intent. Fairhope is a beloved, idyllic destination where many want to live. It will take finances and adherence to strong plans to maintain the same quality of life.
Downtown Fairhope, Alabama
Economic Development

Surrounding municipality coffers benefit far too much from Fairhope resident’s dollars. Keeping more sales tax revenue within the city limits enables resident resources to be utilized for their own use. Tracy has a plan to achieve increasing sales tax revenue. She also wants to explore an incentive to attract grocery shoppers from other municipalities by lowering the city grocery tax on essentials.

Community Meeting
Full Execution of the Comprehensive Plan

A comprehensive plan for Fairhope was drafted and many seem unaware of its existence or content. Because the process started in 2021, the city’s growth and the demand for resources have created an urgency to update to ensure relevancy and accuracy. As your Place 3 City Councilman, I will work to ensure the Comprehensive Plan remains on the forefront and there is transparency in the process of completing its recommendations.  Communication will be a hallmark of my term.

My focus will include: funding and development of the Fairhope Center for Performing Arts, attention to preserving and protecting historic assets, proactively addressing downtown parking issues, providing citizens with paid firefighters, exploring ways to increase healthcare options with a focus on pediatric and eldercare, encouraging additional lodging options to increase revenue through taxes while allowing visitors to remain longer and increase spending.

Strong Financial Reserves

Keeping the city financially secure for a generation requires a strong reserve and “rainy day” fund. We have a responsibility to protect the city’s most vulnerable - an older population. Fairhope's beauty and high quality of life naturally attract many retirees.  A strong reserve, and rainy day fund, a level higher than average, would provide a greater hedge against extreme weather, unplanned illness outbreaks, and other catastrophic unknowns.
